Christmas Carol The Gift

For 28 consecutive years “The Gift,” a lavish musical theatre production of A Christmas Carol, has been presented free to the public at the Notre Dame Theatre in Belmont, California. Eight of the nine performances, each year, feature free admission. Tickets for the opening Night Gala performance are sold to help pay for the production. In the spirit of the The Gift, each year, audience members bring food and toys to be donated locally for the holidays.

The Notre Dame de Namur University Department of Theatre and Dance and The Performing Arts Company present “The Gift” A Christmas Carol the Musical, based on the story by Charles Dickens, Musical score written by Alan Menken, Lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, and book by Mike Ockrent and Lynn Ahrens. The mission of the project is to provide professional caliber musical theatre performances to the community and to provide opportunities for contributions of new toys and non perishable food items for the less fortunate of our community. The success of this production depends on the commitment and efforts of scores of volunteers.
